Forgiveness

This is the three day package, a bit too long,
what did you expect, always the same, option one,
I've heard of the third degree, somewhat ridiculous, 
even being on your best behaviour, becomes tenuous.

This is the two day package, still much left to do,
you can but try to placate, smooth it, option two,
I thought I had the greatest patience, maybe not,
there were short cuts, can't remember, I forgot.

This is the one day package, bearable, no mystery,
I'm lucky, some things are in my favour, option three,
now, we don't want the same event happening again,
having to go through 'no speaks,' unnecessary pain.

It's over, all is forgiven, stored away for another day,
the flowers are holding up, pointing fingers, so they say.
