THE FORGOTTEN SOUL

THE FORGOTTEN SOUL

Many moons ago
A photo was taken
Of an aging man
Alone and forsaken

His gaunt, vacant face....
....Placid in place
Was a memory
I found hard to erase

Photographed in black and white
A shadowed presence
Exposed in the light
Captured in frame
Behind windows pane....

This hollow image
Was a haunting mirage
A solemn soul
Trapped in the role
Of a tainted painting
Constantly waiting
Yet his pallid portrait
Seemed somewhat....sedating

His forgotten soul
Has slowly been fading...
Yet his spirit lives on
In a picture frame
I only wish
I knew his name.....
