Fortress
She sits on the mountain top,
Alone in a daze
Reminiscing the times
She was ablaze.
The scars she hides,
She fears will show,
None must see,
But few do know.
Her masked smile,
Hides her pain,
She wishes to be free,
And happy again.
Her soul is lost,
Her voice is gone,
Her heart was stolen,
But she still goes on.
Fighting the urge,
To leave this world,
To find a place,
For this girl.
She shows no fear,
Yet is scared of all.
She holds her head,
And stands up tall.
She is breaking,
But she is trying,
For she is a fortess,
By her own design.

Wow. What a poem. Seriously, this one hit different for me. Maybe due to its personal connection. I find that these days, young women never get the respect they deserve from men. It is so so horrible. I don't know what is worse, that we humanity is not learning from their mistakes or that women are slowly giving in and lowering their standards... Truly tragic. Truly unacceptable. Sorry I tend to go on rants ;) (That's how I write too!) I just wanted to say fab poem. One that feels special to me
