Temple
The lonely boy,
Who hides himself
From those who love him
And try to help.
He wishes to forget
And make the world stop
To go back in time
To change the clock.
For a final moment of bliss,
The faint feeling of love.
Falling apart at the seams,
Hoping for a sign, from the empty sky above.
Patience is his key,
To give his best,
And nothing less,
That is all he's ever known.
Begging for a break,
Fearing to be lost,
His voice is just a whisper,
So very soft
He is here,
He is kind,
He is a temple,
By his own design.

This. Is brilliant. What a poem. And one that I can connect to most personally. Going back in time... ah yes, I think we all have our regrets in life, should have done this, should have done that. But really, if we didnt make any mistakes then we wouldn't have learnt any lessons! Least that's the way I look at it. This poem speaks journey to me, a journey a long time in the making. Such a self fulfilling write, I just had to pin. Be back later for a reread. Welcome to the Cosmos dest!
Thank you so much!
A beautiful and melancholy read. That deep desire to make the world stop, rewind. So many of us can relate to that sensation. There is a heaviness that tugs at the reader as you read this. I sense a drifter, with a muted voice, longing to be heard, noticed and loved. A truly wonderfully expressed poem. A warm welcome to the COSMO
Gwen :)
