Free From Your Grip

Free From Your Grip

I saw you
tomorrow
in the shadows
I sense your presence.
as the  cold black cloud
came down
It's getting dark
too dark to see
 Opaque to
my inner door.

I thought I could live in your world,
yet morality
within me
began to die

For your world I see,
is  a heavy-weight,
Pressing down, sealing my fate.
Through winding paths,
I now make my way,
Yearning for the break of day.

So Don't reign
your thoughts
on me
I do not need you
anymore

I follow
my own creed
your battle
is your battle
not
my war
I have no fight
in this
I will not even
your score

Today I am released from the shadows
of manipulation's grip, I stand tall,
Breaking free from the chains of deceit,
I rise above it all.
Through the winding tunnel of escape, I make my way,
Emerging into the light of freedom,
 where I finally stay
