The Frost Upon My Window

The Frost Upon My Window

I have been driven by the beauty of the valley, of the many things along the way

The world is full of wonder, it has a path no other can follow, as it is endless

The streets are filled with people of all shapes and color, the country has a different

Look, it is fields of corn, and beans, and cows, and pigs, with country homes in the distance

The frost upon my window, has been chipped away, so that I may see the next home

Where I came from, it was small, but it was good, it came with countryside, with a sandbox

It came with a collie dog, named cookie, and I remember the porch in which I played

The chickens in the backyard, and the smell of fields, of something old, and something new

I love the change of season, where the spring begins, the summer ends, and the fall has taken shape

Now, winter flakes come blowing across the gravel roads, and the frost is on the ground

I love this time of year, it reminds me of growing up, and growing old, but it is okay

Because the frost upon my window will not last, just like time, it does come to pass

But the memories of this bit of cold, will make my heart warm, and the hot chocolate I drink, I feel the child in me

As the frost upon my nose, warms up to the gentle touch of a warm cup, and the memory of a winters day
