Generation

When manners where like law
You would have to finish a choreĀ
Before you walked out the door
Life was grim with warĀ
When respect was second to none
When strenght through community shone
When all hope wasnāt gone
After war love carried on
When people would have to walk
For a penny to put food on a fork
Face to face they would talkĀ
No laptops taught with chalk
When families sat togetherĀ
When marriage meant forever
When standing by eachotherĀ
When you did all to help your motherĀ
Ā
What a generation, letās have a standing ovationĀ

I truly enjoyed this piece, I do believe that the young generation should learn a thing or two from those who came before them however please remember that every generation has it's beauty and we should try focus on the good not the bad.Ā

Interesting how the harshness of the environment made them better people...in general...there were still some pretty nasty people around at that time though. Fabulous poem x
