Generosity

i welcome all writing, however - some is not worthy,
a catalogue, a list, no happiness, lengthy, no mystery;
come to my class, my wife is a teacher, she'll tell you,
I tell her - they like depression, they're not mad, just sad.
She said that they won't always like your tricky-dicky stuff,
I say okay, some will get thro' like lemmings, the others - tough;
we have our followers, ah - the disciples with hands raised,
doesn't matter if it's a 'lemon,' they will not be fazed.
Let's dissect - some is incomprehensible, not even sensible,
I'm a winner, so how can I be a sinner, me - Mr. nice guy,
to be generous with my acolades, I try to love you all,
but perhaps sometimes you should feel guilty - it's your call.
Byron and Shelley may be mortified,'What are they writing
about now pray? Have they forgotten the beauty of a summer's day?'

I adore reading the poetry of the masters past. Poetry to feast upon. Real poetry (in my view). I think here on Cosmo there are many different types of writers, as you quite rightly point out, and all write for different reasons. Personally I like the sad poems as much as the happy ones... But we are all different. I have no idea what I am saying here but your poem has definitely got me thinking... So 5 stars for that! ?x
Thanks Being - I'm sure you're
write!
