Ghost Town

Ghost Town

Abandon hope, travesties appear
For only phantoms adhere
Decayed remains yester-past
Flesh on bone nary last

Specters clinging to life
Samhain wields a steely knife
Carving dead without regret
Absconded memories to forget

Treasure scattered about
Clotted remnants devout
Curses for thieves by night
Solely dead earned that right

Secrecy hoarded in vain
Spoils of war emptily reign
Cling to existing mortality
Cadavers envy vitality

City of damned once belave
Dusk-falls upon a grave
Welcome says a skeletal grin
Dullards bring own coffin
