You was the universe to her
You was first to her
And likewise to you
Now she gotta look to the skies for you
Tears and love share her eyes for you
And your daughter
Is she too young to fully comprehend
That she and mommy lost the best father and friend in the world
Hopefully time will mend the wounds their hearts have
Their pain is probably similar to your car crash
Ain't there a galaxy of friends the stars have
Why they wanted an army soldier so bad
It's not fair
But who said life was
And nothing really evens out the odds like love
That being said
I use some of my own to write a poem
And dedicate it to your daughter and wife at home
To lighten the load
Of long nights and hard days
To keep the light in their hearts shining through this dark phase
Keep their heads up when they're feeling down
The king's gone
That doesn't mean you lose your crown
Get the tears out your system
After that, lose your frown
You still have a castle
And a daughter to look after
So rule like the Queen you'll always be
The only things that are forever
Love and your king
