Give up the Ghost

Give up the Ghost

Wreckage of tattered wood
Existing on water if it could
Incessant waves batter
Β Awash in foamy matter

Bravery a foolish notion
Adrift on the chaotic ocean
Two ships in the night
Combustion with the ignite

Though seas may batter bone
A critical lesson is known
Scanning de novo seacoast
It’s time to give up the ghost

Briny tis a mariner’s heath
Stagnant what lies beneath
Cradled in seabeds below
Only lost phantoms know
Β

I've missed your work on here, friend! However, this greatly captures the set theme of being abandoned so all's well that ends well. Looking forward to seeing more of your work but no pressure, of course. Have a nice day!Β
