Golden Wedding

Golden Wedding

So many years, so many tears, so many beers,
I rode off into the sunset towards eventually you,
who was to know what would happen, what future would do,
If we had the chance, we'd put present back - but we can't.

It was something we had to do and experience,
God said: 'Look what I gave you, look what you did,
you repayed me, thought you were safe, once you hid,
twice because you couldn't be touched, but I was watching.'

Into the sunset became a pale golden colour,
would it be possible to have twice in a lifetime?
Another trip by Moses, another mountain to climb,
although maybe you finally got it right, good - this time.

Enough dialogue, enough 'free as a bird,' we made it today,
this is our time, nothing, no one, can ever take it away.
