Gone is the Girl of Yesterday

Gone is the Girl of Yesterday

Where is the girl of yesterday ~ her smile as warm as the morning sun
A heart so giving and full of love laughing gaily having fun
Running through the crowded streets unaware of treachery
Prying eyes about to dupe the fox wears his disguise

He waste no time the charming smile
grinning full of guile to him
she is nothing just  more baggage along the line
innocence taken for greed and lust
              stripped away her pride

Cruelty of man waits eagerly virginity the highest price
gone is the girl of yesterday

Her body used man has no shame their cruelty the devils gain
Corruption greed and power they have taken and sacrificed the Innocent
they are the lowest form of life

The ugliness of their actions one day
they will pay the price
For all the girls of yesterday

The winds of change you will reap your reward
The pain you inflicted returned in full so unbearable death will be a blessing
The ghost of your past looks on

"The evil mind twisted like knotted wire
he sold his soul his time has come
the devil awaits the
return of a son"

The gates of hell its flame grows higher
more human flesh to stoke the fires
fate held you in its power
FOR THE EVIL YOU HAVE DONE

The girls of yesterday dance upon the graves
Their work is done

Dear Poet Sister ANNE!!
This is such a powerfully compelling read .......taking on such topical subject matter & delivering with VERY clever poetic phrasing ~

~ "The evil mind twisted like knotted wire
He sold his soul, his time has come
            The devil awaits
            The return of a son....."

You have such great instincts when it comes to phrasing and imagery...... hope you don't mind my reformatting that gorgeous phrasing of yours ~ just a suggestion to help you see what I'm seeing in your gift for writing.......ALL STARS!!...... well done...... keep 'em comin'!!....... hugs n smiles!!......T xo ❤?

No Tony no objection at all I will try and re-edit.
I was on a site a couple of years ago and told by
the site owner (so to speak) they did not like my
type of poetry, kind of free write really.
Now decided to start again and cannot believe
the great comments received - now I take heart.

I wish though that one could centre their work
and maybe use different formats like Lucida/cambria etc
But I am quite happy to have been made welcome

Dear Anne,

Again, welcome to Cosmo.  I see by the above, that one of our great poets, Tony Taylor, has become a fan of yours, which, after reading two of your works, I have too.
You will notice by my comment, that I do most of them in poetic form.
It is always so wonderful to meet a new poetic Soulmate.

"The Girls of Yesterday" await
The sons of Satan, to meet their fate
Then after they have gone to Hell
The girls live on, their evil tell

Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

Really great - loved the way you said
"Sons of Satan" and the girls live on etc.
It shows we all think and write differently
making poetry more interesting.

Not certain what mine is most call it free write
some is poetic.
Started writing about 5 years ago but do not
understand most forms so stick to  the norm
or whatever normal is...

Dear Anne,

I will tell you what I think "yours is".
It is the product of a gifted writer, with a caring heart, and a loving Soul, which exudes from your beautiful poetry.
Your rhyme schemes are wonderful, providing the reader with excellent cadence.
Don't worry about "understanding most forms", because yours "shapes up" just fine.

Hugs, Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

Larry thank you so much you have read me like a book
It is my heart that speaks something my younger brother
said some time ago.
I have to understand what is being written - gell with it
the same as when I read.
You do me proud thanks again.   Enjoy your weekend.
