Good Ingenuity

Good Ingenuity

It took off to explore the Martian terrain,
now nothing would ever be the same again,
a red oomagooli bird suddenly flew right by,
the drone was not alone exploring the purple sky.

No canals yet, only stony outcrops and dust,
then, over a dune shaped like Dolly Parton's bust,
red buildings came into view like a jelly mould,
snuggled together, protected from the -83 degree cold.

Ingenuity settled on going for a flat piece,
and there was a life form, wonders never cease,
it suddenly felt a tentacle around it's frame,
and wanted to know exactly why we came.

It said that they were short of water, give you guided tours,
and be prepared in future, because we're coming for yours.

Hi Marion,
We'll watch the space,
literally - someone said
that we have to colonise
the planets.
Love,
Terry.
