Goodbye Love, Signed Sophie

Goodbye Love, Signed Sophie

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

I can't go on like this, alone, anymore, I miss you, my family, my country

Goodbye, to the hurt, to the pain, to the fight, inside my head, making me insane

We were so very young, so very different, we've been through, thick and thin, rushing waves over oceans and seas, through our brains

Though you never seemed to mind, leaving one more time, leaving me behind, on that fortune cookie train

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

To the money, we never had time to spend, can't buy happiness anyway, ain't that what they say

Sometimes, it's true, when you try too hard to fix it, it never seems enough to undo, the broken strings become unglued

Three times, isn't always a charm, sometimes it brings luck, sometimes, it just brings harm

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

I am not that three times a lady, you danced with, that night on the dance floor in Tokyo, once, twice, never, no more

Remember the melt downs, like Mount Fuji, we'd erupt, like wild animals in heat, the roar, the growl, the scratching, we couldn't keep it strong, stepping onto hot ashes of pain

Goodbye, to yesterday, there's really no shame, the fire just went out, then water came through the crack, in a stream, like floating on top, not catching up, two lily pads, never to look back

You wanted the big brick house, the city lifestyle, the material things, built high on a pedestal, unreachable to me

Once again, they call you up, you head out on that million mile track, where I won't know where you're at

Not sure when you'd return, when the whistle would blow, when you'd get back

So, I left you a farewell note, on the antique claw foot oak counter top buffet, what did it say, was it fate

That night, on the train, heavy pouring sheets of rain, you put on the brake, a sudden flashing red light, at the old cross guard gates

The screeching of the rails, as I crashed the old Plymouth truck, no head lights left, I was stuck, broken bones, shattered glass, entangled up, in a metal flake train wreck passed

Our lives just took a sudden dive, turned upside down, inside out, in just a matter of time, seconds passed by, in the depth of a pool

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

As I look down at you now, I know I should have stayed, I should have listened, you should have pleaded, I was a fool

You were only ten minutes away, when the storm came in, the sky blackened, your trip ended bluntly, as we fell into a nightmare of rain rage bloodied

We became dark strangers that night, on that tragic road, so foggy, so rainy, a day in July

I'm so sorry for that fight, please forgive me, please try not to cry

Goodbye my friend, my love, my life, you were only looking after me, our fortune, our future, our destiny

Your tender kiss, your warm lips upon my thighs, your beating heart against my chest, longing for my breasts, I hope it returns some day

You were really there, you were really there, I just couldn't care, I couldn't see through the rolling clouds long distance

As I look back to the past, my homeland of Japan, you took my hand, you took me in your arms completely, you gave me your place, you gave me your strength committing

You filled me up softly, gently, with your love, a lover's cup, overflowing, tightly wrapped me up in fleece, while underneath, our naked bodies would play, we would tease

I can't look back anymore, it's too hard to bare, it weighs heavy on my aging tears, pouring out onto my weeping green tea

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

Until tomorrow, as I fly, with no fears, I'll ride high on eagle's wings, a slow ride into the sky

Where the angels of darkness, are put to rest, and the angels of glory rise high

Singing our song with electric guitars, bringing us back to an easier night, in the silver lined heavens, so bright, so kind

Like, a hotel California, lit up on a Saturday night, you'll be mine, in my bed, I'll pull down the blind, and the band will keep on playing, long after we're gone

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

For now, for today, I pray, keep you safe, on your way to your next journey you find

Goodbye, one more time, as I sigh, I brake the cookie crumbs in my hands, I read your fortune, printed on tiny paper, it says

It's been six long hard years, since you left me, I now, have three children, a new wife, three dogs, a farm, a few acres, and some chickens

Like, the Japanese sword, it's sharp to the touch, it will cut you deep, shedding old blood, sharing new love, making you free

I am still blinded by that night, by your lights memory of me, I can feel the hunger in your eyes, as it still hurts you so, it too, does me

Goodbye Love, It's Sophie

Across the universe, across the galaxies, across the orient, true lover's, never die

As the angels call your name, I'll be waiting just the same, today, tomorrow, and forever

As two love birds cue, perched side by side, on a cherry blossom tree of eternity

Yours Truly, Love Always

Signed Sophie
