I'm sure his protégé Vanity would agree. She left us just last year. I'm sure they're singing a duet. But as someone who listened at Uncle Sam's (renamed First Avenue), I like so many others feel a loss. Here in Minnesota, we cry tears of purple.
Thanks Mark, I think your tribute was far better. Didn't mean to steal your thunder, but I must have posted mine just minutes after you posted yours.
But I'd love to see more poems to dedicated to this great man. Yes, Prince could be eccentric, but by all accounts from the people that met him he was a very polite gracious unassuming man. If only we had more like him.
I saw him once ~ at "The Rat" behind Fenway park in Boston!!............I have no words brother!!............ just tears!!.............. well done Kimmy !!......... : (. T xoxo

Kimmy a very nice tribute write. I was never much of a Prince fan, don't really like his music but I respect the man, I am a fan of the Charlie Murphy skit about when he met Prince and played him in basketball and got smoked, hilarious.
Dave Chapel often did skits on Prince who not only got a charge out of him, but would befriend him. Prince was known for encourage and supporting artists of all venues. I believe in the days to come, you'll hear the word 'mentor' often when describing Prince.

Great write Sir Kimmy...
Wonder who he's having breakfast with in the morning?
Write his name across the sky even if it's just in your mind...
Let's celebrate his life?
Be happy for him?
Hey Prince...
Happy Journey!
Thank you for sharing...
Kimmy and Prince...
Hugs...
