Grains Of A Sandman

Like a nomad, I rove the desert
Renouncing the world and all its treasure
But in the cold of night, upon a stone I lie
Under luminescent stars of a silentious heaven
And am I evil, if I don't care, if they are to fall
As I have lived for you, only to be consumed
And I am bearly hanging on
My eyes are arid, despite the acrimony and sadness
As though the well has dried
Yet the lid is open, for you are more than
Just a desperate man's mirage
But is there reason to believe in
When all I know, evaporates before my hands
I've grown jaded and this pain is hatred
And still it holds me, in my fight against the dark
And before I tread beyond the footprints
Of where my hellacious heart has stood
Sand will mutate to glass and glass again to sand
As my reflection dissolves, grain by grain
But I'll live on, if forever in wait of your return
