Green Diamonds

Green and blue, turquoise too, tied us together, me and you,
nothing was black and white, when born it was new,
untarnished, as God intended, beauty was open-ended,
like a prismatic waterfall, aquamarine nicely distended.
Sapphires and emeralds sparkled in the light from your eyes,
not a trace of discension, only hellos and reluctant goodbyes;
jade reminded me of your secret charms and generous arms,
transfixed by the way and silent means that mystery charms.
Garnets and even green diamonds flashed whilst sleeping,
they reminded me of exotic lands, the love you were keeping,
oregon sunstone glitters and glows reminiscent of ages past,
an indication of permanence and how long your smile would last.
However, I didn't need adornments to be impressed by your heart,
because they were imaginary, I invented them all from the start.
