Green Immigration

Green Immigration

                    Green Emigration

Thrown into a foreign sea i rise gasping for air,
I look behind me and all around but i seem to be the only one there.

I took a leap of faith not knowing what lay beneath, bound by ambition and wonder i follow my feet.

All young leave the nest to find what’s yet to become, to be men like our fathers and create homes for our sons.

I walk among faces i have never seen, I look for the warm smile of my mother in places she has never been.

This is not my home and familiar seems like a distant word, I feel like a bird without a flock or a bull without a herd.

I cannot hide i am here and if i do not swim i will drown , just like reality there is only one way up and one way down .

This storm may be brutal but tomorrow is a new day,
All we can do as people is live, laugh and pray.
