Greeting Strangers

Most times strangers
react by the way you present
yourself to them
At first they may a bit leery
wondering where you're coming from
but once they realize
you are absolutely harmless
and not some strange escapee
from the local funny farm
but a genuinely friendly individual
just wishing you to have a good day
then more times than not
they succumb to your friendliness
Try it, success is not guaranteed
but most people want to believe
you're truly sincere
If more of us would try this
it would be more common
and less suspicious
of an ulterior motive
Memories of a seemingly
more gentle and slower life style
in the late eighteen and
early nineteen century
is a driving force in our search
for a more genteel existence
to counteract this fast paced
twenty-first century!

Hello Mr. T!!! I'm the mouthpiece too...so contrary to the way I used to be! It wasn't until I became successful in my career as a graphic designer did I get the confidence!!! Now WATCH OUT!!! Makes me feel great BUT the great big smiles it creates on others is the greatest reward you could ever ask for!!! Us guys eh!!! LOL hugs-n-kisses!!... Happy Jack xo ???
Hi Jack ..As a child I was cripplingly shy but through meeting certain people in my life I seem to have metamorphosed into someone that not only loves talking to people - all people... but for some reason complete strangers will engage me in conversation...my husband laughs at this and tells me I must have a secret tattoo on my forehead that says' I talk to ANYONE' but its all to do with loving people and not being judgemental but interested in everyone- how much nicer the world would be if we stopped just for a moment and smiled at a stranger- love this piece Jack as it really resonates with me and I can imaging you and I having the most wonderful conversations full of laughter and love! Nice one my friend!

So sweet to know someone like me and to realize I'm not a kook!!! As a little aside, at our local food store, there's a cashier with a natural scowl on her face... not her fault! As soon as start talking and being silly, she perks right up and a great big smile beams across her face!!!! My heart jumps for joy!!! Thank you friend... love, Happy Jack xoxox
