Growing Up

I have a darkened history
Some of its clear, some of its a mystery
Growing Up, I’ve gained a lot of wisdom
I used to believe I lived in a kingdom
Growing Up, wasn't always my favorite
It’s funny how times change, ain’t it?
I couldn’t find anything to tickle my fantasy
I couldn’t create a bond with intimacy
I was always thinking, it felt like I was on ecstasy
Growing Up, I always wanted to be independent
I know I had the brains, I was intelligent
My mom always held my hand through my growing pains
To this day, she’s still my sunshine when it rains
She wanted my life to be fair, to be equalized
She gave me hopes and dreams, all I had to do was visualize
