Guardian Angels

Guardian Angels

There is a kind of being,
Who lives amongst us all,
Who will sometimes cross our paths in life,
Whenever we do fall,
A face that's not remembered,
A deed that goes unseen,
You will never know they are there,
But somehow you know they've been.

They have an extensive library,
Of you and your complex life,
They know why your dog just died,
They know your kids and wife,
They are just outside the hospital room,
When you are at your parents death bed,
A slight comfort to you when all is done and said.

A sudden feeling of joy in you,
A breath of new fresh air,
A cool refreshing look on life,
When you didn't care,
A cold glass of water,
To get you on your way,
And bring down your temperature,
On a scorching summer's day.

We owe it to our angels,
They work hard behind the scenes,
Making sure you can handle it,
When picking up all your shattered dreams,
They lift you way up higher,
When you get a sense of winning,
For if you know just where to look,
You would often see them grinning.
