Gypsy

She dances with grace and charm,

In sultry seduction with raised arm.

Around a flame that intensely burns,

With fancy swirls and intricate turns.

Poetry in motion around the pyre,

A gypsy tune melodious from a lyre.

She spins a tale of sadness and woe,

Death proved too mighty a foe.

Ebony eyes shine with a tear,

For her lover she held so dear.

He left her on this mortal plane,

Ascending to the stars to reign.

Waves keep tempo as she stepped,

Briny water the tears she wept.

Music swells with the ember's heat,

Long auburn hair sways to the beat.

So like the embers, a lover's eyes burns,

Oh how her heart mourns and yearns.

Night creatures watch entranced,

Hypnotized by the rhythm she danced

A rainbow skirt bellows fans pyres,

Her brow glistens and perspires.

Full moon leads a sea to wrath,

Bare-feet in the sand mark a path.

Night shines down with envy it seemed,

Stars like his eyes twinkled and gleamed

All through summer's eve till dawn kisses dark,

Exhausted she dreamt of eyes that spark.
