Poem -

Half Asleep

It's that time of night,Ā

where my sleeping pills takeĀ

control of my heart

and my breathing is slowed.

When half asleep and half dreaming,

you see the most wondrous things.

You hear the most beautiful songs.

But how come every time I open

my eyes,

the only thing I see is

the ocean of blue surroundingĀ your pupils?

And how come every time the song,

takes time to start to play, the only

thing I can hear,

is your raspy laugh.

When my eyelids finally give up

the battle of staying open,

these things and everything that

that makes you so perfectly you,

are the things I dream about.

Deirdre Tiernan,

Good write, My applause, My love, My vote

When my eyelids finally give up

the battle of staying open,

these things and everything that

that makes you so perfectly you,

are the things I dream about.
