Hallo Ween

Hallo Ween

Something silly for October..... HalloΒ  Ween

Wicked Witches
Wily Wizards
Ghosts and Goblins
prowling the night
black Cats scowling
as the Raven took flight.

Zombies and werewolves
all manner of the dead
hidden in shadows
waiting for victims
who will be bled.

This night,
skins will be shed
bodies will be bled
those in the shadows
need to be fed.

This night,
comes but once a year
which is all we can bear
children laughing.
amid screams curdling..

This night,
one of trick or treats
hiding the horrific
in bags of sweets
carried by beasts mythic.

Beware this night
be ready to take flight
as ghouls come out
no time to shout
darkness enveloping
the night menacing
say hallo to Ween.

Enjoyed this light hearted read Alan, takes me back to my childhood wood raiding escapades, which were in fill swing around Halloween....in the days when kids were allowed to sneak into neighbours back gardens in full combat gear lol to pinch wood for the communal.bonfire without being arrested lol. The fact that we now, as adults know that the people in our close knew exactly what we were doing and planted stuff for us purposely does not reflect from the magic of those 'special... operations' lol ... x
