Hangover

My mind is pounding and pumping against my head
Trying to break free from the painful dread
Any loud, harsh clang brings despair to my ears
I haven't had a hurt like this in many many years

We were young when we met
So full of love, hope and dreams
But the secrets that you kept
Our marriage wasn't like it seemed
I have so many regrets
And your betrayal like alcohol poisoning
I have wished for my death

Don't get me wrong loving you was a high
An exhilarating, dangerous rollercoaster ride
Loving you was like drinking to many bottles of that tequila
Dancing and spinning
Oh!  How I needed you!

But the love is over
My trust has died
Being apart is like a hangover
Everything hurts inside
My mind is jumbled
My thoughts scattered around
My incoherent mumble
Prayed that I would drown

Drown in the tequila
Drown in the vodka
You whispered do it now
No ones gonna stop ya.
