Happy Mother's Day

"Happy Mother's Day", it's everywhere,
Social media and notices around town
Every shop window, cards and flowers

But who would I give them to?
I always thought it a waste,
To leave beautiful flowers
At a grave side to rot

4 years and it's no easier
1st year away from home
And every fibre of me is screaming
My mind rushing with images of the years I had

Mummy I miss you
Why did you leave Mummy?
Mummy I need you
Where are you Mummy?

I dread this day
Because I cant celebrate what I have
I just remember what I lost
