“He only takes the best”

“He only takes the best”
God saw that he was getting tired and a cure was not ever to be,
so he put his hands around him and whispered,” Michael come with me.”
With tearful eyes we watched him suffer and saw him fade away,
Although we loved him dearly, we could not make Michael stay.
A golden heart stopped beating that day, to allow hard working hand to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us, that he only takes the best.
So when I wake I take with me, those memories can never time replace,
So when you cried, those tears couldn’t hide the pain I saw in your face.
Time can’t expel the heart ache we fell, that day you said good bye,
I promised you I‘d stand, as I took your hand but inside I silently cry.
Like a man you let go, your spirit, I saw flow, as your breath of last, you gave,
Though God called you home, your body left alone, as you walked, the road he had paved
The kind gestures we once shared, we two as a pair, gave wake to life its old ending,
Though now left alone, your mom, remains still strong, thus after death, exist a new beginning.
If for you, he had against all odds spared, a forbidden fruit, he would have barred,
Instead he took you and with he, you were promised,
a life of longevity, to prove he had Cared
This everlasting slumber, he calls home for us to have rest,
God s willing plan for all mankind, a formidable time of test.
Thus lends credence to mind, that to life, we are merely just guest,
Which proves undeliabally, that he does only, takes from life, its best?

Dear Sir Jimmy,
It is so wonderful seeing you back on the funnel and shinning as always, love reading all your new posts, each to its own carries a compelling message. This one touched me deeply for i have seen it too many times to deny.
A golden heart stopped beating that day, to allow hard working hand to rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us, that he only takes the best.
As sad as it is to comprehend his mystic choices, i have always found comfort in relating and believing the following:
A masterful gardener is God, and it is in his garden that the most precious of flowers reside, cut short may their bloom, perhaps to our simple mind and eyes, but his purpose for all living who dares or denies, he sure hears all of our cries, yet he chooses our seasons as he does with much compromise. And so in his hands I trust and fold my destiny with an open heart as I may fall or rise.
Kindest regards,
Shirley
Shirley my friend, nostalgic thoughts came upon me, as i delved into my past of inserted poems to the funnel and as i came silently upon the anniversary of my brothers death, this particular poem came to mind and as i read the poem and then the comments, once again was i reminded, why you were the most (revered) and (socially loved), poetess/ poet, to have ever dawned this most enjoyable site..Your writings are beautiful as well as heart warming and most peaceful to the minds of any, my dear friend...God Bless you and please do enjoy your Christmas and New year...

Hello (Sister)Shirley,
What you and William and Shah post is amazing and each response to any and all poems has placed a new twist and value on the poems that money value, can notsupercede. The analytically process you and William have placed on the poems of this site has spawned an onset of super poems, poems offering full birth, life and if it pertains, the full death of the poems physical make up, of its characters.Reading yours and Williams and Shahs, comments describes the complete poem from beginning to the end and whats even more of a pleasured shocker, is that Tina has adopted this method as well and has mastered it very well. You (4) are very special people as to many more on this site but i owe you (4) specifically a whole lot and can never say thank you enough.Just stopped in right quick from my moms house, hopefully will be back home in the morning, Take care of you because there's only one and if we were to lose the (4) mentioned personnel on this site, what a sad day, this would be for us all.....
Forever there when needed.
