HEAD FOR THE CLOUDS....

Flint flickers
Conjuring his flame
As he wakes from routine
Late at night
Once again...
An amber glow glimmers
From the candles wick
The shuffling of feet
To the pendulums tick
Wooden floorboards
Beneath him creak
As he draws back the curtain
He takes a quick peak
Though .....his poor eyes are blurry
Old age...
Lack of sleep...
|
Then a rat-a-tat-tat...
But he knows who it will be...
A friendly stranger
Whom beckons the dwarf
Seeking his guidance
Sent off course...From skies north.
The brass knocker raps
On the old oak...once more
Prophetic Duraga...then opens the door.
His spectacles slide to the end of his nose
Now hes able to spy this stranger...he knows.
The crisp cold winds blast into the room
Then the door slams abruptly!
With an all mighty...BOOM!
Duraga returns to his comfortable chair.
The stranger then wonders...
"Is this Dwarf unaware?"
"As I stand before him..."
"With his lifeless blank stare..."
Duraga then warms his hands with his breath
While the stranger before him...
Blurts whispers of death...
A nonchalant dwarf then slumps in his seat
The open fire...now toasting his feet
The eager visitor pleads for Duraga to speak...
But this urgent news can't compete with the heat.
"Your manner dwarf...Is naught but weird!"
Then Duraga smiles as he twirls at his beard..
Frustration then makes the visitor rise....
Followed by cries....
At the dwarf in despise!!
Duraga then sighs......
"My friend...
One day...you'll realize...
Your news every night...
Does no longer surprise..."
"So please let this be
Our final goodbyes...
As your whispers of death
Provoke sad lullabyes..."
"Every night...I see you die...
Then...once again...
I watch your soul rise..."
The stranger then ......SHRIEKS.....!!!
"Has old age damaged your eyes??"
"Can't you see...I'm Here...I'm Alive!!"
"I wont sit here and take heed of your lies!"
"Tomorrow night...I'll bring alibi's....From the skies!"
Then in a fit of rage
The stranger takes flight
Leaving the Dwarf
By the amber fires' light
Back to his home
Confused...He denies...
That his abode now lies
High above...
In the skies...
