He'd Better Sleep With One Eye Open

When a man was evicted, he needed a place to stay.
He turned to his friend for help but he was turned away.
He wouldn't give him shelter even though it would've just been temporary.
He slammed the door in his friend's face and he froze to death last January.
If I was a violent man, I'd beat him to death with my fists.
He'd better sleep with one eye open because God is pissed.
He was a Christian who never hurt anybody and what happened was so grim.
He'd better sleep with one eye open because God will be coming after him.
God is especially mad because the man doesn't even feel sorrow.
God will make that bastard pay, it may not be today or tomorrow.
But God is angry and he will eventually make him pay.
He let an innocent man die and it certainly isn't okay.
He had nobody else to turn to, he was supposed to be his friend.
Tears roll down my cheeks because he let his life come to an end.
