Helen

Helen

As we travel through our lives, people come and go,
and maybe, if we're lucky, friendship starts to grow.
But sometimes, if we lose our way, despairing at our plight,
a special soul will seek us out and bathe us in their light.
These angels have been heaven sent, a gift to lift us high,
to show us how to live again, so life won't pass us by.
I know now I am truly blessed, for God has let me see,
that when he chose my angel, it was you he sent to me.
Your presence is a warm embrace, your words restore my hope.
You re-ignite my self belief, that somehow I will cope.
You are completely selfless, ask nothing in return,
yet at the very core of you, your private hell fire's burn!
Only God can know the time, when here your work is done
and then he'll gently reach for you, his special, chosen one.
As he draws you softly in to nestle by his side,
he'll place his hand upon your heart so you can feel his pride.
But all the while he needs you here, to help us find our way,
he'll give you strength to carry on, to fight another day.

Thanks so much Cherie.
Helen is a friend of my mum but when we met it was as if we already knew each other. We don't judge each other despite having very different beliefs and lives. She is fighting her own battle and yet still puts others first and doesn't want anything in return. This is the unconditional love I thought was non existent and we may only see each other every couple of years but the bond is as strong as ever. It helps that she is a great advocate of my poetry lol.xo
