Her Demon

I emerge out of the black cloud
Which has been building in her brain
"Guess who's back sweetheart?
It's your demon again"
She turns to run away
But I tightly grab her arm
"Don't worry my darling,
I won't do you any harm.
Aren't I the only one who doesn't tell you lies?
I'm here to rip apart
Your happy disguise"
I can't help but point out
That she's a bad mother
That her daughter is stuck with her
And she won't get another.
"Look at you, you're hopeless!"
I snarl and I sneer
I spit out the sweet nothings
That she don't wanna here
I tell her she's ugly
She's a miserable cow
She tries to fight me off
But I always win somehow
And as she lies in bed
Wide awake as can be
There's only the two of us
There's just her and me
And when she loses consciousness
I jump into her dreams
And turn them to nightmares
And laugh at her screams
For I am her truths
Her worries and her fears
And I feed off her misery
Her woes and her tears...

Hey JAYNE!!....I'm glad I went back to check out some of your stuff!!.....you definitely have a gift for metaphorical prose!!......some excellent phrasing here and you have a fine sense of rhythm and timing in your delivery.....some of the imagery here is VERY memorable as well ~ "I jump into her dreams and turn them into nightmares" ~ that's friggin' awesome.....you could base an entire poem on that idea!!(just a thought)......anyway, I really enjoyed this piece.....VERY creative dear poet sister!!......ALL STARS!!
