Here I am or Nice to meet you again.

As I mentioned before, I have never believed in coincidence.
Although, I could not shake the feeling that my life would change
The moment we decided that we wanted to meet each other.
Luckily for us, the moment came sooner than we thought.
As with any situation, you had to take advantage of it.
I had extra time in town and I did not want to spend it alone.
I decided that I wanted to take a chance and ask you out.
I saw it going one of two waysâŚ
But as fate would have it, you ended up saying yes.
So, I ended up making a mad dash all over the City
Trying my best to make sure I would make a good first impression.
I ended up being late, I was sure that was not going to cost meâŚ
Little did I know, that you were running behind as well.
By the time I got there,
All I could think about was the cold.
Made me think I was on the Titanic, looking for an iceberg
Would I make it or would I founder?
But I shoved that thought aside and waited for you. Â
Did I look all right? Was my breath okay?
It wasnât until I saw you walking down the sidewalk.
That I heard the alarms shutting down and leaving the iceberg behind.
They always say a picture says a thousand words.
I donât think the ones I saw did you justice.
You gracefully strode towards me, in that Rhythm Nation Jacket
Your hair was put up in braids, a mixture of black and brown.
There was a glimmer in your eyes that caught my attention.
Your voice was soothing, almost like hearing an old song that stirs your heart.
Until that moment, I did not know your real name.
Instead you told me to call you by your middle name.
I couldnât even think straight nor did I want to.
All I could think about was trying to be the perfect gentleman.
I didnât want to mess this up at all, something told me to play it cool
Yet I felt like I wanted to just give in to all my emotions.
I wanted to just hold you close to me and get lost in that moment.
But I relented and I could not keep my eyes off of you.
Taking my time to remember every little moment.
From the way you smiled to the scent of your perfume.
Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye that night.
I had to go back on the road and I didnât want to
What surprised me more was that you didnât want me to either.
It would be another two weeks before I could see you again.
Two more weeks?! Felt like two years at that point!
We drove off back to our homes, I knew at that moment
I was not going to be the same person I was before.
I could not really sleep that night.
All I kept thinking about was her and how I wish I did something more.
But, I was glad I didnât do a thing at all. I just wanted to get to know her.
The next day, I embarked back onto that lonely mistress that was the road.
Thinking I would not hear from her, but luckily for me fate has a way.
I broke down in the middle of the desert.
Had to wait on someone to rescue me, and that was when I saw it.
A message sent from you, which actually made my lousy day a whole lot better.
At least there was one good thing to come from this.
We texted on the phone for hours; I still tried my best to be a gentleman.
Until that moment you slipped and said something that caught me off guard.
I donât know if that was your plan or not, but I liked it.
At least I knew you were feeling the same way I was.
It just made me even more determined to come back home.
I felt like I was on cloud nine and I did not want that to go away.
I turned on Phosphorescentâs âSong for Zula; and listened to it.
It reminded me of sitting in the theater and watching Spider-Man.
The further North I traveled, the more I wanted to get back to you.
I know it was too soon to feel like that, but I wanted to get to know you.
I just wanted to spend some more time with you.
It was not only that you intrigued me, but that I enjoyed listening to everything.
That was something new within me. It had been a long time since that happened.
It had been years since I remembered anyone making me feel like that.
But I knew I was heading back home, heading back towards you.
Immediately, I made another date to see you again.
That night was a strange one for us.
You already had a previous engagement and you were running late.
But I already got our tickets, and got an extra set just so I could see it with you.
Even though I had seen most of the movie with my friends, I didnât enjoy it.
That was until the moment you walked into the movie theater.
This time I wasnât going to let anything hold me back.
I wanted to let you know that I was looking forward to seeing you again
Sitting there beside you, holding your hand and wanting to be close to you.
After the movie, I decided to take a chance I wanted to kiss you.
That was the most awkward moment in my life.
I donât think either of us was really ready for that.
That when we said good night and we headed back home.
At least that was until I got a phone call from you telling me to meet you.
Like Batman driving the Batmobile I raced off the freeway
Making a mad dash back towards you.
I didnât want the night to end. Not with that kiss.
The lights moved past me at warp speed.
Forget the Enterprise, my Accord was boldly going
Where no Honda had gone beforeâŚ
It wasnât even ten minutes when I finally met up with you.
We went to this little bar that you liked to go to.
Not too long after we started talking some more.
I canât remember much of the conversation except
For how beautiful you were, we kissed again.
I forgot where we were, what we were doing.
The only thing that mattered was you.
I just wanted to stay in the moment.
Unfortunately, like all good thingsâŚ.
It had to come to an end, at least for the moment.
