His Heart

Never far from my mind,
Whatever day, time or date.
I hang on his every word,
For he is my soul mate.

I’d defend him every single time,
Even when he isn’t right.  
Because to me, all he does is perfect.
It was love at first sight.

An immediate connection.
An electrifying spark.
I’d hear him over any noise.
See him however dark.

My heart recognises, his heart.
They’re beating is in sync.
But even though I love him,
It’s not quite what you think.

Because even though this beautiful man.
Is the centre of my world.
The painful reality,
Is his heart belongs to another girl.
