My little Shadow

When I feel sad,
And don’t know why.
I don’t need to explain,
She’s just by my side. 

When I am angry, 
Needing to rant,
She silently listens.
At most, sighs a soft pant. 

When I am tired,
Literally or, of the world.
Right there with me.
In a little ball she’ll be curled.

When I need to get away,
And don’t want to talk.
She is filled with excitement,
At the mention of a walk.

The relentless support,
For reasons she doesn’t even know.
Not a word uttered between us.
Still endless compassion she’ll  show.

I could never be alone while she’s here.
Every kind of break will always mend. 
It’s absolutely, as clear as crystal,
Why they call them mans best friend.
