His Trap

His Trap

I saw beyond the fire to the dim light beneath
All the right words were said, but through sharp venomous teeth.
The fire in your eyes betrayed the ice in your heart
I reached out to your shadow but I only fell more apart.
Your heart will never glow because your demon swallowed you whole
But vengeance runs thick and it will soon take it's toll.
I'll let my blood stain your soul so the next feels my warning
So another won't fall in the trap and be left alone mourning.

good write, Monica, yes, it is true that hardly anyone seems to be who they claim to be, deception everywhere, ain't that the truth, hey you have a spelling error on the last word, I believe  you meant to say 'mourning' instead of 'morning'  or perhaps you left out the words 'in the'  and it should be 'in the morning'  not sure, but it effects the implications, anyway, cool poem nonetheless poetess, and welcome to the site, cheers
