His Venerable Voice

~His Venerable Voice~
ย
I heard Godโs voice, once, long agoโa memory Iโll keep.
A sound so deep, so soft, so low; I could not help but weep.
I wasnโt in a fancy church, nor highest holy temple.
But in an oily, old garage โ a room so small and simple.
ย
ย
The air was charged with static as small hairs upon my neck
stood straight on endโmy will, Heโd bendโmy life was such a wreck.
Iโd planned to take my life that day, yet God had other plans.
Then, as He spoke, my soul awoke; He uttered these commandsโ
ย
โMy son, your task has just begun, it will not end today.
For I have special plans for you; youโve so much more to say.
You feel your life is over now; youโre broken, bruised and torn.
But I bled on the cross for youโ youโre mine since youโve been born.
ย
ย
Yea, obstacles will come your way; youโll overcome them all.
And Iโll be near to quell your fear then catch you if you fall.
Remember what Iโve done for you; you are my special child.
Now go, live life, give graciouslyโโand thus, I was beguiled
ย
ย
ย
to live my life just as Heโd asked, to love my fellow man.
To give my all, to never fallโto do the best I can.
You think Iโm just โthat horror guy?โ then you had best think twice.
While I'm headstrong, I still belong to my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Excellent write and you can feel the emotion while reading..
oddly enough I have started reading the bible.
Hey, that's great, Keith. It really is the Greatest Story ever Told.
Try reading a Bible version titled "The Message." It is written in modern-day English and easier to understand. Compare the King James version to it as you read along for reference.
Thanks for reading my poem. I'm really happy you enjoyed it.
