Hold On
Life has gotten too tough
It feels as if I’m being smothered
As if everything is against me
Nothing makes sense anymore
With failing health and dwindling resources
With unpaid bills and unfed stomach
With broken heart and spirit
With too many tears and sleepless nights
I feel I should throw in the towel
I feel like giving up
I feel like ending it all
But I know that won’t please God
And then the other side might be hell
At least all these would have an end but hell won’t
Then I hear the small still voice
Hold on….I still love and care for you
For how long should I hold on and do you really care?
Hold on…….I’m here with you
It’s been years and it seems to be getting worse
Hold on…you got the clock, I don’t
My strength is failing and my faith dwindling
Hold on…..don’t just give up
My hand is slipping….I’m finding it difficult to hold on
Hold on….I got a hold on you
I‘d try to hold on….no matter what life throws at me
Hold on….I have a purpose for everything
On you I will wait Dear Lord
On you I will put my trust
On you I will put my hope
On you I will fix my eyes
I would hold on…I won’t give up!
