Hole

The hole is deep you left behind,
How do I get out of it?,
The lights of  my world have dimmed,
And never came back,
Some days I claw to get out of it,
Some days I let myself sink,
The slide is silken and so easy,
How could you leave us behind?,
You should have lived to be old,
I gladly would have went,
I know you weren't happy for a long time,
The sins of the past against you,
You never did recover,
The drugs slid in singing their song,
Drawing you away from your wounds,
Lying to you,saying this is where you belong,
Grinning,grinning,as you were sinning,sinning,
You became someone I didn't know,
I hung on to you so fiercely,
Willing you to come back,
Ignoring the words in my heart,
"She is not going to make it",
You won't take me with you,
I will staunch my bleeding,
I will walk wooden until feeling comes back,
And celebrate the good and bad of you,
For the rest of my life.
