Home-wrecking Mare

Home-wrecking Mare

I’ve seen what you’ve written
I’ve heard how you’ve cried
I’ve watched you lay lifeless
And prayed you’d not died.
I heard you out plenty
I sat and I listened
But you didn’t see me
Or my tears as they glistened.
I’ve tried and I’ve triedĀ
To get through to you
Its no use, I give up
What else can I do?
I’ve repeatedly told you
I’ve nothing to hide
I’m not a bad person
I have a good side.
Everything you said he was
You said ā€˜just wait and see’
Don’t you see, if that is true
It’s you that’s finally free!
I know what I’ve done
I’ve broken your heart
And worse than that,
Torn your family apart
My kids, my babies
My absolute world
Their innocence forgottenĀ
As insults you hurled.
You hate me, that’s fine
It’s what I deserve
But the boys? They’re just children!
Sit back, and observe.
It’s me, I’m the problem
I’m more than aware
You’ve told me plenty
I’m a home-wrecking mare!
My apology is deep
From the heart, I swear
I’m sorry I’ve been such a home-wrecking mare!
