Homeless

Why donāt you see me,
When you walk down the street?
Why donāt you hear me?
Iām the one at your feet.
Yes you, now youāre looking.
Wonāt you look in my eyes.
For they do the pleading,
They do not tell lies.
Iām tired and Iām thirsty,
Havenāt eaten for days.
But I know all you think
Is I sit here and laze.
āGo out, get a jobā
Is what you all say.
But do you think
I would be here
If I thought
That would pay?
For the price of survival
Is costly, I know.
And all I have left
Is this poor one-man show

Emma, well written, I like how you highlight the lack of understanding and compassion some people have.Ā
