Honesty

What I need from you, holds more value than gold,
but it cannot be bought and it cannot be sold.
You can look but not find it, nor take it away,
It's something you keep as you give it away.
People are made strong by speaking this word,
It requires no effort, but when it is heard,
Just a whisper, heals hearts, restores soul, renews mind,
To shout it will leave any guilt far behind.
The power this word has builds bridges of trust,
Fixes broken relationships, I'm thinking of us.
I've been resilient, I thought I was strong,
But I feel myself breaking, perhaps I was wrong.
We've both made mistakes, but I'll make myself clear,
It's honesty from you I'm waiting to hear,
If I could have that, I would need nothing more,
For with honesty there's nothing we can't endure.
