Hourglass Sand

Hourglass Sand

Our love was hourglass sand,
becoming smaller and smaller each day.
I tried to stop the grains from slipping away,
the tighter I would hold them the faster the would stray.
We had created each other in that hourglass sand.
Once it was gone we saw each other for the first time.

Greetings Valarie,

Great poem of love preserved, "after the sands have gone."A love that will last during the depletion of sands of time and beyond..As Jason has commented a wonderful metaphor to attach to an everlasting set of hearts, bound  enchantingly together, as one......Sweet poem in deed...Power in each grain expelled.....
