How does she do it

Even as I sit here sick in the night,
My partner of 6 months cares for me,
No questions asked.
I can’t use my legs and am bed bound,
Is this a new mum my kids will grow to love I’ve found?
I hope so,
As I love her to much my heart hurts to tell.
She’s taken on roll of mum in the last 15 days,
For that alone I hold so much praise.
We’ve a dog we love who’s mad with attention and causing craze.
If i wasn’t so Ill,
My new family would look perfect,
Playing in the meadow where the cows do graze.
We may not make it,
but I won’t have myself think like that
One day we'll make it,
At the moment that’s all we can hope for,
Is the made it day!
She gives me hope in life you see,
My present partner and hopefully wife we’ll see.
I’ll make an honest woman of her yet,
If it weren’t for her I’d crumble,
I’d melt.
So my thanks go to the one I love,
My rock of precious stone,
My personal connective treasure trove xxxx
