Poem -

How many times?

How many times?

How many times have you apologized,

to your mother and father while they raised you,

How many times have you recognized,

the beauty and grace in what your loved ones do,

How many times has anger clouded,

your judgement that you lost a friend?

How many times is a message shrouded,

Because you can't see the meaning it will send,

How many times can you say nothing,

when you see an injustice happen,

how many times have you been bluffing,

because you couldn't lock it in,

how many times have you cried,

because you took a moment to look inside,

how many times have you tried,

But failed because of you're pride,

If you sit down and ask yourself these things,

I bet you'll find more pause then answers,

You'll be surprised with what self reflection brings,

suddenly life will become a blur,

You realize the moments you often overlook,

that your priorities may not be right,

You begin to ponder the path you've took,

you start searching to find the light

Valerie Beasley...

I have asked these questions time and time again.  They arise in your life circumstance by circumstance …the cause and effect that they stimulate will determine the direction you take each time you are confronted with the same question.  Hopefully, wisdom will prevent one from making another mistake.

A most excellent write!
