Poem -

Howling at the moon

*

Stars of simplicity

Glow in the pool of her face

She has shone with intensity

Calmness and coolness and grace

*

A picture of purity

Maturity and majesty

In lace

*

I shall come to her soon

I shall howl at the moon

*

Her feminine ferocity

Is my dream in my secret place

*

The night warms my eyelids

From inside my head glowing hot

My body appendage

Expended and ended

Forgot

*

So cold above me

I fear you don't love me

I fear yet I yearn for you nearer

*

Alone in this dark time

Astoundingly stark time

Your presence is costing me dearer

*

Will I see you at noon

Will I howl at the moon

*

Aloft and aloof and unclearer

*

You float in the sky

Reflecting my sigh

Reflecting my cry

But still I would thrill

At the touch of your will

Be your slave

*

Do I rave

Can I save

Any sense recompense

If I try

*

Her glimmering shimmering horror and ice

Is a warning

A pale baleful light

Riding the night

Until morning

*

Oh goddess you impress

You contest and infest my flesh

*

No hope in my dreaming

Your passionate beaming

A milky magnificent mesh.

*

You're cold old and cruel

A radiant jewel

Or nuclear fuel

That just smoulders

 *

Can I be with you soon

Can I howl at the moon

*

Or are you cheese that just moulders

^

Am I mad am I blind

Can't I see Can't I find

Is it me - or my mind

How you hurt me

Don't desert me

*

I am youth with a body that's bursting

I'm a fever a flame

And you are the same

And we're thirsting

*

How you hurt me

Glow covertly

Glide and then ride and avert me

*

Are you proud

In your cloud

Where you ride and deride and divert me

*

Do you grant me a boon

Do I howl at the moon

*

Had you lied when you tried to convert me

*

I'm a tree I'm a boy

I'm a leaf I'm a toy

I'm a book and my pages are yearning

For your fingers to flutter

Your cold lips to utter

My pages are yours to be turning

*

Will they burn me

Will they turn me

*

Will your silvery fingers now learn me

*

The world is a ghost

And I love you the most

*

And I'm howling

Howling at the moon.

*
