Human machine

Human machine

Waking, sleeping, talking, eating,
it’s overwhelming
Too much work to keep a heart beating
Dreaming, hoping, longing, trusting
It’s underwhelming
Everything just feels disgusting

Screw on my emotions tight, lock and load
Let there at least be pretense
Say and feel what is right to say and feel, stay on the road
At my sanity’s expense

I can learn common sense and I can laugh
It’s all quite easy
It’s what’s beneath my skin when I’m cut in half
I don’t want anyone to see

It horrifies me
