HURT

Why do we let people hurt us?
Why do we fight for their attention?
Why do we let them break our hearts?
How do we find the answers to these questions?

Most of the times we know that answers
But it's not the ones that we would like to hear
But we know that the truth of the matter is
People hurt us because they just don’t care

we throw cautions to the wind
when we fall in love
and even if that person is a hawk in the sky
when we look at them, all we will see is a turtle dove

love makes us blind for a while
and in due time some can see above the mist
and some just close their eyes and pretend
that something special still exists

and trying to see something in a person
is like an emotional roller coaster ride

Falling in love is like an emotional roller coaster ride
And you build up all these hopes and aspirations inside
Love is like getting into a vehicle
And not knowing the outcome of the ride

because if love is one sided
then you will be chasing a fledgling delusion
and chasing an illusion
will only bring you a lot of confusions

you will be hurt when you don’t get the attention
that you would like to get
but if the one you want it from, don’t love you
then there is nothing that you can do

and if you keep dogging after some one
then you will lose your glow
and they could be mean to you
and hurt you more than you will ever know

you can't make someone care for you
if they just don’t have that feeling for you
and fighting for attention that is just not there
I think is really a dumb and stupid thing to do

Some would take advantage of a person
If they know that, that person holds them dearly in their heart
by playing with your emotions and being hurtful towards you
And then while they go about their life happily
Your whole world around you falls apart

I believe that we only truly love once in our life
And that love stays in our heart for ever
And it hurts like hell, to think of them with someone else
When we don’t end up being together

It hurts to wait and hope for a love
That you know in your heart might not come true
But still you wait, thinking “what if you give up on this too early
And then at the very last minute, it comes to you

These are the choices we are given when we fall in love
With no easy answers for us to choose
But if love is one sided and you know it's true
Then walk away and stop acting love struck and confuse

and it doesn't matter how you look at it again
because for a while, you will be singing the blues
because when the pain of love come to you
you don’t get the liberty to accept or to refuse

and there will be times, we will feel like if we can't survive
and want to hide away behind the doors
but in true honesty, the hurting does stop in time
and we will look back,
 smile and say “what the hell we were hurting for “

The woman who is the keeper of my heart
She's the only woman I will ever love on this earth
And if God doesn't put us together
Then for the rest of my life, I will continue to hurt
