Hush, Sweet Nothings

I stare at the walls in my cell, and all that I see, are shadows from hell

I went down the wrong path, and shouldn't have committed that crime

But here I am, just lonely, and shameful, but as I write my poetry, it just keeps getting better

As I whisper, hush, sweet nothings, no one is around, but I hear the silence fill the air

Because I care, I am so sorry, you must see me this way, but I still love you all the same

Forgive me for my sin, and love me, the way you use to, remember, in times of desperation

Only faith can take us to the promised land, and I need you, with me, when I go

Hush, sweet nothings, in my ear, tell me you want me, take me today, let go of the past

Live for tomorrow, I will be with you, in my heart and in life, for love is eternal, and sacred

Only I can see this through, with you, blinded by the light, I now see the way

I hope you will be there, when I need you, please don't hate me, I love you, honestly, I do

Now, hush, sweet nothings, and take these blues away
