I am Mother Nature: COVID is My Revenge

You’ve spent so many years plundering me
Chucking filth into the sea
Pumping pollution into the atmosphere
And cutting down my trees.

You imagine you’ll live forever you fools
But I’ll cut you down to size
Show you who ultimately is in charge:
You’re not so very wise.

Besides I really needed to find a way
To keep your population down
To keep you from turning my various sights
From natural green to man- made brown.

And now you’re dying in your millions
With COVID on the stage.
Did you think that because it’s the 21st century
That there would be no more plagues?

They’ve happened before but you’re out of touch
Since you have all mod cons
But your ancestors had Bubonic Plague and more:
In the Stone Age and the Bronze.

I’ve crashed your economies too
Across each and every nation
And another way I’ll hasten your death
Is through cancelled operations.

So I’ve got you fearing for your life:
For too long you have binged.
I am Mother Nature
And COVID's my revenge.
